This 34,000 sf neighborhood center for the City of Sacramento was designed and constructed in three phases over a 9-year period. The initial 18,000 sf Phase 1 construction included the public lobby, two large community meeting rooms, and a multi-use assembly hall with a stage, catering kitchen and portable athletic equipment. Phase 2 added 11,800 sf for community meeting rooms; an arts & crafts room; a game room; an aerobics & exercise room; administrative offices; and a central courtyard accessible from the meeting spaces. The Phase 3 Aquatics Center included a a combination zero-entry, 25 yd x 25 m & water-slide pool; and a large pool deck with outdoor showers. The 4,000 sf support building provides locker & shower rooms, a concession stand, a lobby/reception space, a conference room, and first-aid & lifeguard spaces.
The Phase 2 addition and Phase 3 aquatics center were design-build projects.
