WOODLAND COMMUNITY & SENIOR CENTER
This project consists of a 60,000 sf cross-generational community center building and sports park on a 40-acre site. The center includes a multi-sport gymnasium with bleachers, portable backboards and motorized divider curtain, and locker/shower rooms; a 3-chamber banquet facility with configuration options to seat over 300 diners; a conference center with room size options ranging from 20'x40' to 40'x80'; a senior center; a youth center, a 7,000 sf fitness center; and Parks Department offices. Site development includes an entry plaza, lighted synthetic turf soccer/softball field, a dog park; and parking for 400 vehicles.
The community center won successive awards (in 2008 and 2009) from the California Park & Recreation Society for Excellence in Recreation Facility Planning & Design.
