WEINSTOCK HISTORIC RENOVATION
SACRAMENTO, ca

This project consisted of the conversion to office use of one of downtown Sacramento’s landmark department stores. The scope of work included structural analysis of the six story building, refurbishing of the exterior restrooms, and tenant improvements for approximately 110,000 sq. ft. of office space. Significant design aspects of the project were the complete reconstruction of the ground floor slab, redesign of the terra cotta wainscot at street level where display windows were removed, and the addition of sand blasted detailing to each of the several hundred exterior windows. The project was awarded the Merit Award by the American Institute of Architects, AIA Best Rehabilitation Project, and the Architectural Achievement Award by the Sacramento Old City Association.
