marriott residence inn
The project is to develop the 5-story,173-room Marriott Residence Inn in the empty 5.5-acre lot Esplanade Development in Alameda.
The hotel’s design is influenced by both modern and contemporary styles and includes exterior finishes and design features that complement other adjacent buildings in the Esplanade development. The building’s distinguishing features include continuous projecting trims to accentuate the main entry masses, a straight contemporary style cornice line at the parapet and tall first-floor storefront windows topped with a metal canopy.
The project consists of a five-story building constructed using modular technologies — the four stories of modular construction on one level concrete podium for public space.
The modular guestroom units will be built in a manufacturing facility in Idaho and shipped to the job site. With a modular design approach, the project will achieve the design intention with precision and consistency. When the modular unit has a repetitive design with various finish materials, this approach will maximize the benefit such as multi-family residential unit or hotel project.
The project is currently Construction Document phase.
