HIGH SIERRA CROSSING MUSEUM
TRUCKEE, ca

A 10,000 square foot museum in Donner Memorial State Park dedicated to celebrating the crossing of the Sierra Nevada, from early pioneer days to the building of the First Continental Railroad and forward to modern travel.  Located adjacent to the Pioneer Monument and near the location where members of the ill-fated Donner Party were trapped by weather during the winter of 1846-7, the facility includes an exhibit hall, a multi-purpose room, a gift shop, information and office space and toilets.  The project is scheduled for completion in late spring, 2013.
