This project entailed the reconstruction of an historic 19th century waterwoks building on the riverfront in Old Sacramento, and its conversion to a multi-level museum showcasing the City's history. Completed in association with exhibit designer Barry Howard Associates of New York, this facility includes five galleries totalling 12,500 sf, an orientation gallery, and associated administrative, shop, and storage spaces. The $4.2M cost included $1.3M for exhibits.
The project received both an AIACVC Award of Honor and a Masonry Institute Award.
