HRGA

The project is located on the northeast corner of 17th and I street intersection in Sacramento Midtown, CA. The defining feature of the project is cascading terraces facing north, or residential area, to create both community and private patio spaces. It was derived from the zoning setback requirement, but HRGA turned this regulation into the main design concept of the project. This elevated green and open space will provide the residents with a place to hang out and relax.

 

The building’s topology allows it to unite with the neighbor, but to stand independently. The stepped building at the north, public and private, is blurred, allowing people and the building to engage beyond their front doors.

The 206 unit residential project includes having 3,000 sf of retail space at the street level and 105 parking spaces on the ground and the second level. The project is currently under the planning phase. 

 

This project is aimed at the six-story Type III wood construction over two levels of podium.
